Easy Projects is a web based package for managing and tracking all kinds of projects. It allows all users to communicate each facet of a project, ensuring everyone is “on the same page”. Just as the name indicates Easy Projects is easy to use.
What Easy Projects does:You will be able to see a complete outline of your projects including resource allocation, tasks, issues, status of customer requests, time sheets and more. You can create and assign a task to a team member in less than 30 seconds. Multi-nested (hierarchical) Projects and ActivitiesThe software allows you to have numerous projects and activities with many sub-levels of hierarchy. Each task can be further split into smaller tasks and assigned to team members. Employees/Contractors TimesheetsEasy Projects gives you information on exactly how each team member is spending on a specific task. Time sheet entry is not another time consuming task in itself, it has both web based and desktop timers which works like a stop watch. Simply select a project and activity and the time will be recorded automatically. Estimation AnalysisThe unique feature assists you in improving time estimates for your team. Easy Projects can analyse and provide history in each activity you assign to a person. It will compare the estimated time with the actual time and provide you with information to more accurately estimate tasks. Easily Customised and ExpandedThe user interface, including colours and logo, can be easily be customized to give it the look and feel of your organisation. Multiple Built-in and Custom RolesEasy Projects is a multi level permission system which is based on each user’s role. Each user is assigned a permission level giving them access only to the objects necessary for their particular role. To ensure information is protected, each role can also be restricted to certain actions within the task such as deleting or assigning resources etc. Issue (defect) TrackingThere is no need to maintain a separate system for addressing defects/issues. Easy Projects built in Issue Tracking feature can factor any problems into your project. Once a defect is entered to the system, it will be converted to a task and assigned to a member for action. You can also track how much time is actually spent on these defects. Customer's Requests TrackingHow many times have you ended up including further work which is outside the original specification or quote? With Easy Projects customer request feature, a customer request can be entered by the customer themselves or a project manager. The request data can be tracked and compared to the original specification and used in conjunction with your billing system. Auto assignAs soon as a new request or issued is entered into Easy Projects, the system will automatically convert it to a task and assign it to a team member’s task list. Each assignment is made based on preferences that you pre-set into the system. Project MilestonesThe Milestone feature allows you to track a tasks status. The report will show you what task has to be completed for a milestone to be reached. The milestones can also be shown on a Gantt chart in standard or a Silverlight version. Email NotificationsThe email notification feature keeps each team member updated as to what is happening within the project. If there are any changes, new tasks etc, each relevant team member will receive and email notification. Again saving time and improving communication by keeping all the information in the one system. Message boardsThe message board feature will encourage and facilitate team work and keep all members on track. A discussion board can be attached to each task. This board can include as many topics as you required. Files UploadEasy Projects allows you to attach all numerous types of files to each project or task. Rather than searching through your emails and folders to looking for files, they are all in the same place ready to use. Multiple Built-in and Ad-hoc ReportsThe Easy Project reporting feature provides a standard set of reports for the most common requests. By using filters, the relevant information can be narrowed down to suit your request. In additions to this, there is a built-in report generator which allows you to build customised reports. Microsoft SQL is used as a database, enabling you to also create reports using Crystal Reports or Active Reports. Billing ModuleThe Billing module is a useful tool which allows you to retrieve financial data relating to each project. This data can then be used for invoicing or accounting needs. It has the ability to track expenses, fix project costs and payments. CalendarThe calendar function allows you to create and assign events, and provides you with a snap shot of what is required. You can view your monthly schedule or see a detailed daily view. Project Managers are able to view other team members calendars. Import / ExportAny MS Projects and Excel file (.csv) can be easily imported and exported from Easy Projects. All reports can be exported into Excel. Your Easy Projects calendar can be exported to iCal, then synchronised with Outlook 2007 or Google Calendars. Task DependencyThis feature allows you to specify relationships between tasks ie. “Finish to Start or Start to Start. The expected duration of a task or project can be set manually or automatically calculated based on related tasks. This means that changes to the timing of a task will automatically be reflected in related tasks. Possibility to accept new issues by e-mailWhen a user cannot access Easy Projects for any reason, they can still raise issues via email. A web services retrieves the emails and places them into the Easy Projects database. Batch OperationsAJAX-based InterfaceBeing a Web 2.0 application, the fast performance of Easy projects is not affected by the number of tasks or projects in its database. The user will find it familiar and user-friendly, very similar to a desktop application, reducing the natural resistance to new things. The system encourages team work and collaboration to achieve the end goal. |
